CASA

The Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA)

CASA is one of the leading forces in the science of cities, generating new knowledge and insights for use in city planning, policy and design and drawing on the latest geospatial methods and ideas in computer-based visualisation and modelling. They are part of The Bartlett: UCL’s global faculty of the built environment.

CASA is currently providing a home for the  Massive Small research project. Kelvin Campbell is also an Honorary Professor at CASA.

Royal Commission for the Exhibition 1851

This organisation awards some 25 postgraduate Fellowships and Scholarships a year, for advanced study and research in science, engineering, the built environment and design.A broad, holistic approach is encouraged, the aim being to ‘make a difference’. It also makes a small number of Special Awards to support projects consistent with its overall aims.

In 2013 Smart Urbanism was awarded The Built Environment Fellowship in ‘Genetics and the Built Environment”.

Masters in Sustainable Urban Development

The course offers a multidisciplinary understanding of core areas and advanced topics in sustainable urban futures, linking academic research to policy and practice worldwide. The MSc provides a stimulating learning environment and exposure to cutting-edge knowledge, aimed at enhancing professional development and opportunities in a global context.

Smart Urbanism forms part of the ‘Concepts of the City and Environmental Change’ curriculum.

United Nations Habitat Settlements Programme

UN-Habitat is the United Nations programme working towards a better urban future. Its mission is to promote socially and environmentally sustainable human settlements development and the achievement of adequate shelter for all.

Smart Urbanism is currently building a relationship with this programme with a view to expanding its influence to the global south.
